You Can Accept Things Without Liking Them

 

What we have today is what we have  

We get to choose how we want to show up for it.

Every day. 

Every moment.

Giving up our expectations of how things should be or others “should” act and respond is not about letting them off the hook,

it is about making things better for us.  

Giving up resistance to our current reality-  choosing to accept and allow disappointment, insecurity, uncertainty, fear, and anxiety, makes all of these feelings lose their negative power.

Accepting them does not mean agreeing, condoning, or liking them. 

You can accept them and hate them if you want.

You can accept them and be angry about them.

You can accept and not understand them.

We accept them to save energy. We allow ourselves to keep the and … because its empowering and it feels better that way.

When we allow all of it and are willing to feel the pain, exhaustion, overwhelm, frustration, and sadness, it becomes a little easier.

When we choose to be learning instead of struggling,

and accepting instead of resisting,

we feel more at ease.

With whatever it is.

When we choose to connect and be vulnerable with one another rather than be silent and feel isolated and alone,

our journey is much less bumpy.

Our power is in our minds.

Accepting life exactly as it is and others, exactly as they are, is to optimize our own peace of mind.
