How Are You Being Reckless?

Are you wallowing in indecision?

Are you not prioritizing your health?

Are you being a martyr?

Are you reacting rather than responding?

Are you overcommitting for fear of disappointing someone or being judged ?

Are you always busy?

Are you “indulging” in not knowing? Or in the fear of potentially making a mistake?

Are you not taking actions you know you need or want to take?

Inaction and indecisiveness can be reckless.

Prioritizing work over family and our health can be reckless.

We realize that smoking and drinking are reckless. Surfing the internet and shopping to feel better can also often be reckless.

Practicing over responsibility and toxic independence is reckless. The over and the toxic are the clue to recklessness.

Compare and despair is also often reckless. It makes you feel bad which very often leads you to inaction and/or hiding. It leads you to do less of what it’s important to you.

Not investing in yourself by signing up to work me, for many of you, is also reckless.

Life is short.

If you are not living an aligned life, if you are exhausted and depleted, if you want to feel fulfilled and energized, if you want to practice medicine sustainably, have a healthy marriage, and connected relationships with your children,

it’s reckless not to make changes.

It’s reckless to overthink, spin, be stuck, and make choices from a place of fear, shame, blame, and guilt.

It’s reckless not to be strategic with your thinking and your life choices.

Where are you being reckless?

What is your next best decision?
