"Clutch"

A Stanford Critical Care fellow told me last week that my previous coaching was "Clutch" - so he was back for more.

Not sure exactly what "Clutch" means but I know it was a compliment because he also said-

I had "changed both his life and the way he practices medicine for the better. "

That his "imposter syndrome" (frequently thinking he didn't know enough and didn't measure up) was mostly "gone" with his new practiced go-to thoughts.

That he now asks himself regularly what compassion would do and includes compassion for himself in difficult situations. And he feels much better.

He is able to make decisions with more clarity, and be more present, and learn more.

He is handling "codes" (many times a night in an ICU) with much more ease, clarity, and calm. His brain sees clearly that everyone else's behavior in code situations is not about him or what he is doing and he is able to show up in these actual life-and-often-death moments with compassion for himself, and everyone else in the room.

If all this is possible after just 2 sessions - in someone who is working as a fellow (trainee) in the intensive care unit in the midst of a pandemic--

imagine what could be possible for you with coaching.

I didn't make the decision to make this huge life pivot to coaching lightly.

Many people wondered why.

It's because of the incredible and beautiful transformations that transpire.

Helping healers and caregivers is, and was, my superpower.

Maybe that's what "clutch" is.

It's why I chose pediatrics, and physician wellness, and now coaching.

Guiding and helping others show up better and increase their own positive impact is what I love to do-

whether they are parents, physicians, healthcare workers, daughters/sons, spouses, yoga students...

The ripple effect of this work is magic.

The question I asked myself a little over a year ago was--- What would the world miss out on if I don't do this?

This week not only did I help physicians, but I also helped parents, and wives, daughters, and business owners all find calm, ease, and feel “buoyant"

so they could show up as a better version of themselves for those they love and those they care for.

In the face of difficult situations—

having loved ones with mental health struggles, being physicians working in a pandemic in a broken healthcare system, and being business owners or opening new businesses and medical practices in a pandemic, this work can help you to feel more easeful, calm, and in control.

“When we heal ourselves we heal our children's children.”

That's LOVE and why I do this.
