Coaching, Therapy, Mentoring, & Friendship
A new client asked me how coaching is different from therapy, mentoring, and friendship?
Therapy, mentoring, and friendship she has tried. Without success.
How is coaching different?
The goal of coaching is to get you from frustrated yet functional to easeful and optimal.
A coach inspires, helps you with accountability, teaches you new skills and ways of thinking,
and helps you perform better. Coaching helps you up-level.
.
Unlike friends and mentors, coaches have specific training to be a guide.
Unlike friends and mentors, coaches don’t usually give advice.
Instead, they help you “succeed” more often in “the game of life.”
A coach helps you do this by knowing yourself better and becoming mindfully intentional about how you want to live.
The game of life has is no specific recipe for success.
And no universal definition of success.
A coach helps you figure out what success is for you.
They help you get there.
Efficiently, effectively and easefully.
