Honoring Women and Ourselves: A Call to Pause and Reclaim Ease

For International Women’s Day 2025, I invite you to pause. To soften. To acknowledge the strength, wisdom, and beauty that already exist within you—without needing to prove, push, or achieve more.

Women in medicine, leadership, caregiving, and beyond give endlessly—to their patients, their families, their teams, and their communities. We are natural nurturers, fixers, and problem-solvers. We show up, hold space, and take care of others, often at the expense of ourselves.

But too often, we forget to offer that same care back to ourselves.

This day is not just about celebrating accomplishments or how much we do.

It’s a call to honor ourselves—not just for our efforts, but for our existence.

It’s a reminder that ease is just as worthy as effort. That slowing down is not failing. That you are enough—exactly as you are, right now, in this moment.

What if, just for today, you gave yourself the same compassion, patience, and grace that you so freely give to others?

What if you chose to pause, breathe, and receive instead of giving, fixing, or striving?

This day is for all women—the healers, the leaders, the change-makers, the quiet warriors, the ones who uplift, support, and carry the invisible weight of those around them.

Today, I invite you to:

  • Put your hand on your heart. Feel your breath. Acknowledge the fullness of who you are.

  • Celebrate yourself—not for what you do, but simply for who you are.

  • Allow yourself to receive the same love and support that you so generously offer to others.

As women, we don’t always treat each other as well as we could. We can be hard on one another, judge each other’s choices, and operate from a place of scarcity rather than abundance.

But what if we changed that?

What if, instead, we uplifted, supported, and celebrated each other—not just today, but every day?

Maybe we start today.

Maybe we reach out, connect, and remind another woman in our life:

You are seen. You are valued. You are whole.
