I Wish It Was Different
This thought is helpful to many.
Me included.
.
Wishing it were different allows me to accept things I don’t like with softness, love, and often even sadness.
I can do this without having to change anything or anyone else.
.
It helps with the situation in Ukraine,
it helps with cancer, chronic pain, ADHD, pandemics and so much more.
.
It helps you stop resisting reality.
And stop blaming yourself or others.
And stop feeling guilty.
And stop trying to control things that are out of your control.
Try out “I wish it were different” today.
It’s doesn’t change the facts or the circumstances.
It doesn’t change the underlying feelings of sadness, grief, or anger.
But it does make them lighter.
It lessens the rumination and the heaviness.
It makes it less personal and less all-consuming.
And allows a glimmer of curiosity and maybe even hope.
And that is liberating.
