It Is Time

It’s not our job to convince others why our decision to make a change or leave a job is reasonable or justified.

They don't need to understand or approve.

We can and should keep it simple.

If you are choosing to make a change, it is time for a change.

If you are choosing to make a change, you are likely feeling ready for something new.

You are likely ready, perhaps over-ready to grow, graduate, and pivot.

Even if the leaving feels, or is, “complicated,” no further explanation or convincing others is needed.

Transitioning is always complicated.

Leaving a place you have been for either a short, or long while, is always complicated.

Transitions always involve fear, uncertainty, discomfort, questions, disappointments, and losses.

Transitions also always lead to growth, “new”, different, exciting, and “gains.”

Make it easy on those asking you why.

When they ask - tell them “it is time.”

When your brain begins to ask, doubt, wonder, and worry.

Remind yourself “It is time” too.
