Lessons from the Heart

Your heart nourishes itself first.

With the coronary arteries.

When it is well-nourished, it sends love and oxygen, and nourishment everywhere else.

This is the why of retreats and yoga for healers.

Nourishing yourself first is the recipe for success for a long and healthy life. One on which you care for and nourish and heal others. Your heart knows this.

Your heart also knows to fill itself fully for optimal function.

It does this in diastole. The rest/pause phase.

The fix for diastolic dysfunction is slowing down the heart rate.

A metaphor for life.

How can you nourish yourself first?

How can you optimize diastole so you can have the most efficient and effective systole?
