The Urgency Tax

Moving through life with a constant sense of urgency has a very high price. Urgency breeds resistance.

Doing things with urgency requires a lot more energy than moving through the world from a place of calm and grounded. Thus “the urgency tax.”

Urgency is a cultural phenomenon. It is pervasive, especially in medicine.

Urgency adds heaviness, brain clutter, and often chest pressure.

Sometimes things are actually urgent but most things are not.

Feeling a sense of urgency is a habit.

Urgency also makes things feel valuable.

Ask yourself as you move through your day, is urgency needed?

How would you like to show up for life’s offerings instead?

What if you paused and breathed and chose to move forward without urgency instead?

What if you moved forward with conscious choice, proactively, kindly, and responsively?

Coaching helps you do this.

Coaching helps you unlearn old unhelpful expensive habits, practice conscious choice, and mindful intention,

and live a life without paying the “urgency tax.”
