True vs Fake Pleasure

True pleasure goes beyond dopamine release. It feels good in the moment and later.

Facebook, chocolate, shopping, and drinking are examples of dopamine releases. They feel good in the moment but not later. They ultimately deplete us and irritate our nervous systems.

True pleasure leads to a balanced and healthy nervous system.

What leads to true pleasure is different for everyone.

A hot bath

Clean sheets

A shower

Reading a novel in a cozy chair on a rainy day

A massage

A swim on a hot day

Yoga, mindfulness, and breathing lead to true pleasure. Especially poses such as Savasana and pigeon pose

Nature offers true pleasure

Gratitude, appreciation, clarity, mindset, and alignment of your values also result in moments of true pleasure.
