Starting with Easy Can Be Strategic

In medical school we were taught hard is better, and more is better.

Easy generally wasn’t valued.

In personal development and transformation work, easy can be strategic and a way to gain momentum.

When we practice a new skill or create a habit with ease, the cost is low,

AND we get unstuck.

When we are unstuck, what’s sticky becomes less sticky.

We start moving forward.

Momentum begets momentum.

We gain evidence for our toolbox that change is possible and that we know how to make changes.

Our default is to start with our biggest most pressing pain point, the most resistant to change, and to be frustrated and wonder why it all feels so hard.

When we are stressed, it’s harder to change.

So gift yourself - hand to heart, deep breaths, and start with easy.

You can thank me later.
