100% Worth Your Time

Often creating reports and summaries is not fun —but sometimes it is.

Reviewing the feedback from the Stanford Fellows about their coaching experience with me this past year so it can be presented to finance to request continued support.

I wish more healthcare systems and training programs would be willing to invest in their physicians in this way.

What would you tell others who are considering trying coaching?

“100% worth your time

It is very validating and wonderful that it is confidential!

It is a great opportunity to learn more about yourself

go into it with an open mind

Do it!! It can give you ideas and perspectives that you can't think of on your own.

Just try it!

Nothing to lose, lots to gain. Having specific concerns or taking the time to reflect prior to the session makes it more productive.

Just do it

Be open-minded and try to brainstorm a few mindsets or reoccurring issues you have been dealing with to help focus the session.

definitely try it

Nothing to lose.

It's an incredibly helpful resource. Highly recommend. We are so lucky to have it as an option.

Good way to work through how you might be getting in your own way

You drive the goals of the conversation. Even if only small goals

Do it! Such a great resource for us to have access to!!

It's helpful to have a coach who has experienced your training, and who has insight into the medical culture. It doesn't solve all your problems, but it will help you to see yourself as more capable and leave behind perspectives that limit your perception of your self-worth and your capacity to improve.”

How did coaching help improve your experience of your fellowship?

“Self-confidence, understanding of the environment, self-compassion

Provided helpful approaches to ensure that I am growing and positively embracing challenges, as well as ensuring reframes on any maladaptive thoughts that could be negatively influencing any experiences

Make the most of offered experiences during fellowship as learning opportunities

Normalized my experience, made me feel more connected to my peers

Even after one session, it helped give me a framework to address some of the challenges I'm facing

Mitigate feelings of burnout and helplessness

Was valuable to have someone outside my field (but also a physician) provide alternative, neutral viewpoints

Helped me a ton! I was on the verge of dropping out of the fellowship and the coaching really helped me get my perspective back

This shows the program cares about my professional development and wellness”
